WHITE WATER SECTION

Welcome to MCC and welcome to the White Water section. We aim to get like minded people up and running some of the best whitewater rivers in the UK and beyond! But...you've got to start somewhere and you're in the right place, the river Goyt is an excellent grade 2 (occasionally 3) and we're on it! It provides excellent opportunities to introduce you to moving water and help prepare you for the bigger rivers in North Wales, the Lake district and our legendary Scottish trip.

What we offer

We have some great paddlers in the section with a wealth of experience and qualifications. We introduce people to the bigger stuff when they're ready but everyone moves at a different pace so we try to accommodate different skill and ability levels by offering "club" trips suitable for most levels. Once someone has got the basics we usually point them at a group of people who can help them to progress.

Andy Brookes - River Leader
I've been paddling with the club for 10+ years and I'm a BC 4 Star River leader. My favorite hobbies are mocking people for taking the wrong line, ending up sitting on rocks or, and this is a particular favorite, lecturing people on the virtues of "Staying upright". I love river running (when I'm not perched on rocks) and I run the famous "Friday Night Takeway" at Mile End Mill, Llangollen.
